Prevención, Inc. es una organización sin fines de lucro fundada por el Dr. Elmer Huerta en 1996 y que, usando la radio, la televisión y la Internet, se esfuerza en producir programas y materiales educativos sobre la salud que sean cultural y étnicamente relevantes para los Hispanos y que sean además, basados en hechos científicamente demostrados.

Nuestra meta principal es la de mejorar la calidad de vida de todos los hispano parlantes, especialmente aquellos con poca educación, bajos ingresos y acceso limitado a la información médica de calidad.

Prevención, Inc. is a not-for-profit organization founded by Dr. Elmer Huerta in 1996 that is committed to improve the quality of life of all Latinos. We believe we can enhance the health of Latinos by educating and motivating them to engage in preventive health practices, hence the name of our organization, Prevención (the Spanish word for prevention.)

Prevención, Inc. strives to produce and distribute high quality Spanish-language health information that is culturally sensitive, ethnically appropriate and scientifically accurate. We focus our communication efforts in reaching Latinos with limited literacy, income, and access to quality health information.

Prevención, Inc. creates scientifically sound messages that are easy to understand by the general public and disseminates them through its own Spanish-language communication networks in the United States and Latin America.
